Role Overview

• Travel/contract ER RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department at a community hospital
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• 24 hours of orientation
• Minimum weekend coverage: every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Experience working with Adult or Pediatric patients
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
• Required skills/experience: Interpretation/Management of dysrhythmias; Central line care/management; Starting IVs; Continuous IV Sedation; IV Vasopressors; CVA; CPAP/BiPAP; Ventilated patients; Triage

• History of extended assignments
• Stroke Certified Facility
• Arterial line management
• Phlebotomy
• Procedural Sedation Administration
• ICP monitoring
• Neuro-trauma
• Spinal cord injury
• Traumatic brain injury
• Ortho-trauma
• Head injury
• Near drowning
• Interpretation of ABGs
• Gunshot wounds
• Traumatic amputations

Additional Notes

• Single set of RTO up to 7 consecutive days will be considered
• No RTO on holidays or during the first 2 weeks of the contract
• Provider support includes interpretation services, lift teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, social services, and a unit secretary
• Provider coverage includes Intensivist, NP, Hospitalist, and Anesthesiologist
• Omnicell medication system
• Meditech documentation
