Registered Nurse - Endoscopy (Travel/Contract)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Provide nursing care for patients undergoing GI and Bronchoscopy procedures, including administration of sedation. Participate as a key member of a multispecialty surgical team and manage the assigned operating room.


Schedule

  • Day/Evening shifts, Monday to Friday
  • 8-hour shifts with rotating start times between 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM
  • No on-call requirement
  • May need to stay past shift end to complete schedule

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
  • Minimum of 2 years of endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year
  • Two or more years of total travel nursing experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Ability to perform moderate sedation during procedures
  • Telemetry experience
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Licensure & Certifications

  • BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association only

Additional Requirements

  • Must have permanent address within 50 miles of the work site
  • Floating required: may be assigned to multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs

Compliance & Testing

  • Must pass Telemetry test before starting
  • Required to complete facility-specific orientation and competency exams, including medication/pharmacology competency and telemetry testing
  • Background checks and caregiver screening per Wisconsin state requirements
  • Required immunizations and health screenings including TB test, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccination or approved exemption, and others as applicable
  • Drug screening required per standard clinical guidelines

Key Competencies

  • Moderate Sedation administration and monitoring
  • Recovery care for sedated patients in GI and pulmonary procedures
  • Telemetry and arrhythmia recognition
  • Epic EHR proficiency preferred

Notes

  • Floating and shift flexibility expected
  • No call required
  • Facility is a Magnet-designated hospital with a strong academic and trauma focus

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with strong procedural sedation skills and telemetry knowledge, seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity, academic hospital environment.
