Job Opportunity: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Location: Largo, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Start Date: May 4, 2026, or ASAP
Shift: 4x10 hour shifts (06:45 AM - 7:15 PM)

• Must be flexible to occasionally rotate to other shifts
• Weekend/on-call required (one weekend per month, every third weekend)
• Pre-scheduled on-call shifts required (up to 6-7 call shifts in a 4-week schedule)
• Holidays required as scheduled
• Floating within specialty/department may be required

Job Description

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) / OR Tech role in Surgical Services
• Strong experience in Neuro and Orthopedic surgical cases is a hard requirement
• Patient age range: Adolescents through Geriatrics
• Operating rooms: 8 rooms

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Additional Requirements and Compliance

• Must be able to pass a 7-year criminal background check and other standard background screenings
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
• Required immunizations and health screenings including:

  • TB testing (QGOLD, TSPOT, or 2-step PPD)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working with children)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (2025-26 season)
• COVID vaccination not required for this location but documentation may be requested for tracking
• Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background)
• Confidentiality agreement and dress code acknowledgment required prior to start
• Various competency exams and certifications may be required as applicable

Documentation and Verification

• Two supervisory references within 1 year of start required
• Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
• Verification of previous 5 years of work history required (attestation accepted if necessary)
• Maryland State Exclusions List check required within 30 days of start

• Candidate must be flexible for weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled
• On-call shifts are pre-scheduled and mandatory
• Floating within the specialty/department may be required
• Strong Neuro and Orthopedic surgical experience is a strict requirement
