Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Anniston, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, every other week (EOW)
• Schedule: Option for 4x12 hour shifts
• Float and Possible Charge Nurse duties as needed
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Skills Required:

  • IV starts
  • Isolation Precautions
  • Wound Care / Wound Vac
  • Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred (not required)
• Lunch: 30 minutes required, no skipped meals
• Start Date: ASAP

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Skills in IV starts, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care, and Wound Vac

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in last 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification (official transcript, diploma, or third-party verification)
• National certification verification prior to start and upon expiration
• Primary source license verification prior to start and upon expiration
• NURSYS verification prior to start
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tdap vaccination or declination within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months (TB questionnaire if test expires during assignment)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella vaccination, history, or positive titer
  • Flu vaccination or declination (year-round requirement)
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Skills checklist required annually

Additional Notes

• Schedules are fixed once contract is confirmed; no changes or additional time off (RTO) will be approved after confirmation
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius considered
• No accommodation for other per diem schedules or contracts

This position is ideal for experienced MedSurg RNs comfortable with night shifts, float assignments, and working with adult and geriatric populations in a trauma-capable facility.
