Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (No block scheduling)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
Call Requirements: None
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Float Requirement: Mandatory float within scope to meet facility needs
Time Off (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days; no time off allowed on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday
Locals Accepted: Yes, locals preferred (must live within 75 miles)
Charting System: Cerner
Facility Level: Level 1 Trauma Center

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health & Compliance Requirements

Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, required annually
Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination (declination must be within 12 months)
Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually (PPD not accepted after 12/15/2025)
MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with booster if low titer
Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination within 1 year
Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if low titer
Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1)

Background & Documentation

Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
Government-issued photo ID required
Completion of facility-specific forms and competency exams as required
Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required for starts on/after 4/14/24
Color blind testing required for starts on/after 1/16/24
Competency exam required for starts on/after 4/14/24
