Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • ICU RN position with required ability to float to Intermediate Care (IMC), Medical/Surgical Telemetry (M/S Tele), Medical/Surgical (M/S), or Emergency Department (ED) as needed.
  • Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, 19:00-07:30.
  • 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period. No on-call required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Background Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years.
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana).
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
  • Immunizations and documentation required:
    • Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer documentation
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (not required for Sterile Processing Tech).

Additional Information

  • Two positive supervisory references required, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
  • Complete 7 years of work history including education, employment, license, and contact information.
  • Must complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.
  • Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function.

Summary

This is a 13-week travel ICU RN contract in Maryland requiring 2 years of ICU experience, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications, and successful completion of a specialized EKG exam. The role requires flexibility to float across multiple units and includes weekend shifts. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
