Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Shift: Nights
• Ratios: 1:5-6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs (float between like units)
• Block Scheduling: Open to accommodating
• Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule)
• Pending License: Not accepted
• On-call: Not required
• Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
• Contract Limit: Maximum 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months to return
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in MS/Telemetry specialty

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Military only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Military only
• NIH Stroke Certification (updated annually)

Required Competencies

• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (updated annually)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) with minimum 80% score, up to 3 attempts allowed

Required Background and Health Checks

• Background check within 6 months of start (including SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, international search if applicable)
• Physical exam within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C (updated annually)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (no declinations accepted for new candidates)
• Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (no declinations accepted for new candidates)
• Hepatitis B vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days (specific substances required)
• Flu vaccine required year-round; medical or religious exemptions require facility-approved documentation
• COVID-19 vaccine not required but accepted if available

Facility and Job Specific Requirements

• Must complete and sign facility-specific documents prior to start (e.g., job description, confidentiality agreement, emergency contact form, code of conduct, policy acknowledgments)
• Photo for badge required (professional passport-style photo with solid background, no large earrings, face piercings, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings unless for religious reasons)
• Parking registration required if driving to work
• Modules due Monday prior to start, completed through facility system
• Call-off policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment allowed; after that, contracted hours guaranteed

• Prior travel experience is NOT required
• Locals within 50 miles of the main campus are not accepted for this travel position
