Job Summary
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards.
- Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff.
- Coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking and professional judgment.
- Participate in discharge planning and provide patient/family education.
- Delegate and coordinate duties of healthcare team members.
Required Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Telemetry)

Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in California (state of practice)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent certification (CPR, HS-BLS, or RQIBLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for MS/Tele units
- NIH Stroke Certification required for MS/Tele units
- Competency exams including:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (Relias)
- Competency Exam (Relias)
- Age Specific Competency Exam (upon hire and annually)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (annual, required for MS/Tele units)
- Conscious Sedation Competency Exam (Relias)
- Color Blind Testing (minimum 80% score)
- Physical Exam within 90 days of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Required immunizations or positive titers/declinations for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug Testing within 30 days before start
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination or facility-specific declination/exemption required during flu season (10/31 - 04/30)
- COVID-19 vaccination required unless medical or religious exemption is approved
Additional Requirements
- Must have Cerner experience
- Current picture identification required (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check within 30 days of start covering last 7 years of work/living history
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- 2 clinical references verified within a year of start
- Complete employment application/resume with 7-year work history including gaps
- Unit-specific skills checklist required
- Orientation and compliance documents must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- RN scrubs required: Navy blue (provided for L&D and OR RNs)
- Passport-style color photo for badge required
