Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Hillsboro, Kansas
Specialty/Unit: Emergency Department (ED) / Medical-Surgical (Med Surg)
Shift: Night shift, 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM
Contract Length: 8 weeks (negotiable between 8 - 13 weeks)
Start Date: ASAP

Job Requirements

• Must be able to manage patient load on both the Med Surg floor and the Emergency Department. Experience in both units is necessary.
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred but not required
• Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty accepted
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers are welcome

Important Details

• Blocked scheduling (grouping shifts together) will be accommodated as much as possible.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide sex offender check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG clearance
• Certifications verification including ACLS, BLS, PALS (if applicable), State License, and NURSYS verification
• Competency exams as applicable (Medication/Pharmacology and specialty-specific)
• Facility-specific documents including confidentiality, HIPAA acknowledgements, computer use agreement, and employee information forms
• Health documents:

  • Physical exam within last 12 months
  • N95 Fit Mask test within last year
  • Immunizations and titers for Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • Drug screening within last 12 months
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination
  • COVID vaccination, declination, or exemption (boosters not required)
• Two professional references within last 3 years
• Skills checklist required

This position is ideal for RNs with at least one year of experience who are comfortable working in both ED and Med Surg settings and are looking for a night shift travel assignment in Kansas.
