Job Details

  • Start Date: Approximately 3-4 weeks from compliance clearance
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Telemetry/Step-Down experience required)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Certifications Required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • On-Call: Not required
  • Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
  • Local Candidates: Not accepted (75-mile radius rule)
  • Pending License: Accepted
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days off per 13-week contract
  • Guaranteed Hours: Yes

  • Certifications:
    • ACLS and BLS (AHA only)
    • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI/MAB, NIH Stroke Certification)
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Unit-specific competency exam (updated annually)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (updated annually)
  • Health Requirements:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Fit mask test (annual renewal required)
    • Immunizations and titers:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (or declination)
      • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (with yearly questionnaire)
      • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
      • Hepatitis B declination required (not vaccination)
    • Drug testing within 1 year of start, must remain valid throughout assignment
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept-April)
  • Facility-Specific Documents:
    • HIPAA Acknowledgement (annual)
    • Latex Allergy Questionnaire (annual)
    • Confidentiality Form (annual)
    • Regulatory Compliance Education (annual, via WorkRamp, 16 hours)
    • TB Questionnaire (annual)
    • Hand Hygiene Policy acknowledgment
    • Fingernail Policy acknowledgment
    • Dress Code Policy acknowledgment
    • Orientation Modules (required for all RNs and LVNs, except certain allied and West facilities)
    • Vehicle Registration form for day shift workers
    • Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)

  • References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)

  • Performance Evaluation: May be requested upon completion of assignment (not required for per diem or extensions)

  • Candidates must have telemetry/step-down experience including EKG and cardiac drip management.
  • Floating within scope is expected to meet facility needs.
  • No block scheduling accommodations.
  • Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted.
  • Pending licenses are accepted to start.
  • Compliance with all background checks, certifications, health documents, and facility-specific policies is mandatory.
  • Orientation and regulatory education must be completed prior to start.

This position offers a guaranteed hours contract at a Magnet and Teaching Level I Trauma Center with a focus on telemetry and step-down nursing care.
