Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)

Job Details

• Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (8-hour shift with 30-minute lunch)
• Call Requirements: None
• Dress Code: Business casual (no scrubs required)
• Charting System: Epic preferred
• Additional Notes: No first-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Minimum 2 years of case management experience, including discharge planning and utilization review (InterQual)
• Case management experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (AHA or ARC) required
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit/specialty (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM) – verify based on assignment
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for certain units (ER, Tele, Stepdown, PCU, ICU)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Current and valid Driver’s License or government-issued photo ID
• Background checks including Social Security Trace, 7-year criminal history, sex offender search, FACIS level 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG (all within 30 days of start)
• Education verification (diploma or official transcripts) confirming BSN or MSN
• NURSYS verification of RN license (within 30 days of start)
• Facility-specific documents including:

  • Photo for badge (recent, clear, color, headshot)
  • Abuse reporting acknowledgments (Elder, Child, Domestic)
  • HIPAA training and acknowledgment
  • OSHA and annual education training
  • Confidentiality agreement
  • Access request form (not required for RNs)
• Health documents including:

  • Physical exam within 1 year (updated annually)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year (specific mask models required)
  • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Negative TB test (QGold) within 1 year
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccine dose or declination (dose must be after 9/12/2023)
  • Drug screening (9-panel within 12 months)
• Employment history verification for last 5 years with explanations for gaps
• References: 2 required, supervisor level or above, one within last year

Experience Requirements

• Specialty Years of Experience: 2 years hospital RN experience (clinical and case management)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (no first-time travelers accepted)

Summary

This is a travel contract position for an experienced Registered Nurse Case Manager with a BSN and active California RN license. The role involves hospital-based case management with a focus on discharge planning and utilization review. The position offers a Monday-Friday day shift with no call requirements and requires compliance with extensive documentation, certifications, and health requirements. Prior travel experience is not required, but first-time travelers will not be considered.
