Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Chevy Chase, Maryland

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of mammography experience required
• Licensure: Maryland medical license required and must be in hand prior to start (ETA 6 weeks)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications & Training

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required as applicable (AHA)
• National Certification/Verification required within 30 days of start (ARRT Mammography credential mandatory)
• Evidence of 15 mammography-specific CEUs within the last 3 years (CEUs must mention “mammography” or “breast imaging”)
• Evidence of 200 mammograms performed within the last 24 months (letter or signed exam count report acceptable)
• Evidence of initial mammography training:

  • 40 hours of mammography-specific training
  • 25 supervised exams
• Evidence of initial modality training:

  • 8 hours digital training
  • 8 hours 3D/tomo training

Background & Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Education verification (diploma or transcript) required
• Drug testing: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Various federal and state background checks (E-Verify, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG) required
• Fingerprinting requirements apply for Pennsylvania placements only
• Skills checklist required for applicable units (not required for non-clinical)
• Radiation badge provided by facility

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within last 12 months (physician statement)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year prior to start
• TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required during flu season (9/1 - 3/31) for patient-facing roles
• COVID-19 vaccination not required; medical and religious exemptions accepted

Additional Notes

• Candidate must complete various facility-specific documents and agreements prior to start
• Facility offers a full range of imaging services in a convenient location near public transit and retail
• No weekend shifts required
