Job Description

• Work in an outpatient adult rehab setting.
• Experience in outpatient adult rehab is required.

Required Certifications (as applicable)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA only
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – AAP or American Medical Learning Center only
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
• National Tech Certification for Med Techs (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• State License Verification (primary source online verification)
• NIH Stroke Certification (AHA, APEX, Bluecloud only; updated annually)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – as applicable

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (within 1 year prior to assignment, passing score ≥ 80%)
• Competency Exam in specialty (within 1 year prior to assignment, passing score ≥ 80%)
• Color Blind Testing Online (for laboratory setting only)

Background and Screening Requirements

• Criminal background check within 45 days of start, including lifetime search from age 18. Must include:

  • SSN Trace
  • National Criminal Search
  • National Sex Offender Search
  • Statewide Searches
  • Education Verification
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search for Home Health
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• MI LARA Fingerprinting within 45 days of start (for certain positions including Behavioral Health, Home Health, and others as specified)
• Education verification (copy of highest degree or diploma)
• State-specific Central Registry Clearance (for pediatric, RRT, L&D, Echo Tech Cardiac Sonographers) – wet signature required
• Employment application/resume with full 7 years work history, no gaps
• One professional reference from supervisor/manager

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required for non-clinical roles)
• Fit Mask test (Bronson requires Honeywell DC365N95HC; fit test must be completed onsite)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (must include pertussis; declinations not accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 45 days of start (annual TB testing not required)
• TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
• Rubeola (Measles) – 2 vaccines or positive titer (no exemptions)
• Mumps – 2 vaccines or positive titer (no exemptions)
• Rubella – 2 vaccines or positive titer (no exemptions)
• Hepatitis B – titer, series, or facility declination required
• Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer (no exemptions)
• Drug Testing – 10 panel including Marijuana/THC within 45 days of start (instant/rapid acceptable)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption (medical/spiritual) required for candidates starting after November 1; proof or exemption must be submitted promptly

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Review and sign Code of Conduct and Appearance Standards Policy prior to start
• Hepatitis B Declination form if declining vaccine or titer
• Fit Test appointment instructions and completion required before or on first day
• Medical and Confidential Vaccine Exemption forms required for vaccine exemptions (approval process may take time)
• Dosimetry History Request Form for Radiology specialties (to be sent to previous employers)
• Personal or Auto Insurance proof required for Home Health (updated every 6 months)
