Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Pottsville, Pennsylvania

Job Description
- Local travelers accepted at rate differential.
- Must have PA or Compact nursing license in hand.
- Return to Office (RTO) required at time of submission.
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience required.
- Work in Adult Behavioral Health Unit providing:
- Individualized Treatment
- Group Therapy
- Medication Management
- Individual Therapy
- Targeted Discharge Planning
- Patient ratio approximately 1:8.
- CPI certification preferred.
- No floating required.
- Every third weekend required.
- Charting required using EPIC system.
Required Licenses & Certifications
- PA or Compact RN license.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA required for applicable units.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA required for all clinical staff.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required if working with pediatric populations.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for L&D and NICU roles.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required for ER and Pediatric ER.
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Required for L&D, must be AWHONN certified.
- National Certification/Verification as applicable by profession and state.
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual).
- Pass/Fail Testing (Basic Dysrhythmia exam) – Required annually for clinical candidates except Behavioral Health, OR, RRTs, CNAs, remote Telephone Triage, Transitional Skilled Unit, and Outpatient Infusion RNs. Must score 88% or higher.
Background Checks & Verifications
- Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire.
- HHS/OIG check upon hire.
- PA Department of Human Services Fingerprinting results required within 90 days of start (full results, no receipts).
- Education verification for highest level of education.
- PA State-specific searches including Child Abuse Search, PATCH Search, and Medicheck Search within required timeframes.
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – Passing score 80%, 2 attempts allowed within 6 months.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam – Passing score 88%, 3 attempts allowed within 6 months, annual update required.
- Other competency exams as applicable.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 months of start.
- Fit mask test completed onsite (not required for 100% remote non-clinical).
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per guidelines.
- Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive antibody titer or completed vaccine series; declinations not accepted)
- Varicella
- Negative drug screen (10 panel or 9 panel without THC) within 60 days of start.
- Hepatitis C titer (non-reactive) required only for OR and Dental.
- Seasonal flu vaccination required for RNs and Allied Health (with some declination exceptions for non-clinical remote workers).
- COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination with facility-specific form.
- Respirator safety clearance required annually for candidates starting 04/07/2025 and beyond.
Facility Specific & Administrative Requirements
- Photo for badge (new candidates starting 3/31/2025 and after).
- Affidavit for provisional employment prior to start.
- COVID and flu declination forms if applicable.
- Fit test questionnaire required for all candidates prior to start.
- Badge request form (time sensitive for new candidates starting before 3/30/2025).
- Chain of custody form required if drug screen is dilute and observed drug screen is approved.
Employment History & References
- Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start.
- Complete employment application including 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days.
- Work history verification required for non-clinical and remote candidates.
This position requires a thorough credentialing and compliance process including multiple background checks, certifications, competency exams, and health documentation to ensure readiness for assignment in a behavioral health setting.
