Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – PCU Float (Night Shift)

Job Description

• Position in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool on night shift (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM).
• May be required to float to another nearby hospital (5–6 minute walk) or within units of equivalent or lower acuity.
• Estimated patient ratios: 1 nurse to 3-4 patients.
• Requires experience with IV starts and telemetry (Tele) monitoring.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least some experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Experience with telemetry (Tele) monitoring.
• Experience working in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease.
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) or chest x-ray if positive, within 1 year.
• Annual TB questionnaire.
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12).
  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella.
  • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable).
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption requires documentation).
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1–3/31); mask required if declining.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene).
• Fit mask test required annually for inpatient/patient-facing roles starting 7/13/2026; onsite fit testing available if needed.

Additional Requirements

• State license verification within 30 days of start.
• NURSYS verification for RN license.
• NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit; must be obtained within 1 year of start and renewed every 2 years if applicable.
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually.
• Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually.
• Confidential Fraud Waste Abuse and Compliance Reporting Mechanism form required.
• Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required.
• Employment application and skills checklist required.
• Education transcripts/diplomas must be official; third-party verification acceptable for respiratory therapy candidates only.

Shift Details

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week).
