Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Location: Edmonds, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

Float coverage required as needed
Patient care areas include Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn care
Responsibilities include vaginal and cesarean deliveries, circulating in the OR, starting adult IVs
Administer blood and blood products
Manage drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps
Administer medications such as insulin and magnesium sulfate
Care for high-risk antepartum, high-risk labor and delivery, LDRP, low-risk antepartum/labor and delivery, OB-GYN, post-op/pre-op patients
Provide couplet care (mother and newborn)
Staff-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:3

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications:
- AWHONN Intermediate
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Additional Information

Previous permanent employees of any affiliated Providence facility must have a minimum 3-month separation before qualifying for this travel position
Local nurses are offered the same pay rate as travelers
