Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Marrero, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 4 months

Job Details

• Weekend coverage every other weekend
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• EPIC electronic health record system experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Minimum 4 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license or state ID)
• Background checks including:

  • Social Security Number trace
  • 7-year county residency check
  • Nationwide search
  • Sex offender registry check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
• TB Questionnaire required
• MMR and Varicella attestations required
• Pending drug screen attestation required
• Passport-style photo for badge
• Immunization requirements for Mother/Baby units only (if applicable)

Additional Notes

• Drug testing and seasonal flu vaccination are not required (attestation needed)
• Some competency exams and health documents are required only for agency compliance and do not affect assignment start
• Candidates must understand background check results may be pending at start; unfavorable results may cancel assignment

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery nurses with prior travel assignments who are comfortable working night shifts and managing a 1:2 patient ratio in a fast-paced environment.
