Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Location: Santa Rosa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Acute Care Hospital setting with 277 staffed beds
  • Must have experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho due to trauma status
  • May need to cover one night shift during the contract
  • Shift: Day, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
  • Weekend work required
  • On-call required: approximately 6-8 shifts every 6 weeks (including nights, evenings, weekends)
  • Floating between like units required
  • Variable start times: 7:00 AM or 9:00 AM
  • Block scheduling possible at manager’s discretion
  • Free parking provided
  • Charting system: Epic

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Experience in trauma, neurology, vascular surgery, and orthopedics

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to float to other similar units or facilities within reasonable distance
  • Must participate in on-call rotation shared equally among staff
  • Must provide a passport-style badge photo with neutral background
  • Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including SSN trace, education verification, and other standard checks
  • Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires additional documentation
  • References must be from supervisors or charge RNs who directly supervised
  • Must complete annual Workramp modules for regulatory and specialty-specific requirements
  • Must comply with state-specific background and licensing requirements for California
