Registered Nurse - Flex Pool (Days)

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical, Surgical Acute (Laulima Unit), and Cardiovascular Unit (rarely).
Work 12-hour day shifts (06:45 to 19:15), scheduled 36 hours per week after orientation. No guaranteed hours.
Use equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.

Patient Ratios

Medical Unit: 1:6 (days and evenings), 1:8 (nights)
Surgical Acute Unit: 1:6
Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.

Orientation & Training

Orientation provided for each unit.
Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg adult nursing experience
Minimum 2 years of Step Down nursing experience, including Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification

Additional Information

Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required.
Must be able to float to multiple units as needed.

Note: Prior travel experience is required for this position.

It’s always 4 to 1 except hallways you might only have 3. The staff is so kind and welcoming I have nothing bad to say about them. This was my favorite assignment so far
