Job Description

Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to surgical and procedural sedation patients in an ambulatory surgery center setting. Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and elderly. Collaborate with multiple provider specialties to support outpatient surgeries.

Required Qualifications

• Current certification to practice surgical technology in Oregon.
• One of the following pathways for surgical technology certification/experience:

  • Completion of a surgical technologist training program in the U.S. Armed Forces or U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, plus 16 hours of relevant continuing education every two years.
  • Completion of a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited surgical technology education program, plus certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or recent graduation (within 12 months) from such a program.
  • At least 2 years of surgical technology practice between January 1, 2014, and January 1, 2017, in a hospital, ambulatory surgical center, or federal government agency, plus 16 hours of relevant continuing education every two years.
• Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience or training in computer applications is preferred.
