RN II - Medical/Surgical/Tele Acute 3rd Floor
Overview
- Travel RN role in Med Surg / Tele on a PCU float pool.
- Unit: Telemetry- WC-Cardiac/Medical 3rd Floor.
- 49 beds.
- Ratios: 1:5.
- Shift: Days, 12 hours.
- Hours per week: 36.
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- Current state license
- 2 years of recent med surg/tele experience
- 1 year of PCU experience
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing the contract.
- Must be able to read basic tele strips and interpret strips.
- RN’s are required to sign strips at least once per shift.
Preferred
- Cerner experience
- Experience with CVA and TIA
- Total joint replacement experience
Unit Details
- Common diagnoses / patient types include CHF, COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetics, tele, post cath, and total joint replacement.
- Diltiazem/Cardizem drips are taken at a set rate.
- No RN titration of drips.
- Tele/Monitor Techs are on the unit.
- Nurse aides are present, with ratios of 1:10–15.
- RT/equipment on the unit includes BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatments.
Scheduling
- Shifts are 7–7.
- Schedules are made 4 weeks at a time.
- Self-scheduling is used, but final scheduling is balanced by the manager.
- Weekend requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule.
- Holiday requirement includes Christmas, New Year’s, and Thanksgiving coverage.
- No call or standby requirement.
Floating
- May float to East Campus.
- May also float to PCU if qualified.
Orientation
- 1 shift of unit orientation.
Additional Notes
- Scrub color/dress code: Navy Blue.
- Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year.
- Radius rule: 50 miles.
