Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Care Coordination

Location

Bakersfield, California

Position Details

Specialty: Care Coordination
Employment Type: Not specified
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Schedule: 5 days per week, approximately 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Breaks: 30-minute lunch (clock out) and two 15-minute paid breaks
Work Environment: Inpatient only
Dress Code: Business casual with a white lab coat (employee responsible for providing own)

Job Description

Provide care coordination with a focus on utilization review (UR) and discharge planning (DC)
Oversee discharge planning and perform utilization review tasks
Work every other weekend; no on-call duties
First to float as needed

Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 3 years of acute care hospital experience, including case management
Experience and knowledge of medical terminology
Utilization review and discharge planning experience required
BLS Certification
Experience with EMR systems, specifically Cerner
Familiarity with Interqual criteria for utilization review
Prior travel experience highly desirable but not mandatory

Patient Population

All inpatients requiring utilization review and discharge planning
