Active RN license
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
1 year of experience with this patient population
Driver’s license required at submittal

Clinical Setting

Combined cardio, general ICU, PCU, and MedSurg unit
Intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients
Supports thoracic program, electrophysiology, cath lab, and structural heart cases

Key Responsibilities

Care for PCU patients
Titrate drips
Read and interpret telemetry strips
Float to same or lower acuity levels

Unit Details

18 beds
Typical nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4; 1:3 for post-surgical patients in the first 24 hours
Charge nurse is present and rarely takes an assignment
Patient care tech ratio: 1:18
Hospitalist and intensivist in house 24/7
Cardiology on call after hours
Respiratory therapy in ICU 24/7

Schedule Notes

Every other weekend required
No block scheduling or self-scheduling
1–2 unit orientation shifts, tailored to experience

Additional Notes

Pass/fail open-book orientation exam required
RTO must be submitted upfront; up to 7 days allowed for the 13-week contract
Navy blue scrubs required
Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
