Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Medsurg/ED

Location: Turtle Lake, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Unit: Medsurg/ED (25-bed Critical Access Hospital, rural setting)

Job Details

• Patient population primarily geriatric, including general rehab post-surgery patients
• Common diagnoses include dementia, stroke, and skin care needs for geriatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: Team assignment with 2 RNs on at all times
• Charge nurse present on each shift; charge nurse participates in team assignments, not individual assignments
• Nurse aides/CNAs present on each shift alongside 2 RNs
• Respiratory equipment managed includes CPAP only
• Telemetry monitoring available, but no dedicated tele/monitor techs
• Orientation: 3 shifts specific to the unit/department
• Scheduling: Block scheduling with self-scheduling allowed
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: Alternating holidays
• No call or standby requirements
• No floating required; LPN stays on MedSurg floor unless experienced and willing to float
• Scrubs provided, no specific color required

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN/LVN license in North Dakota
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Experience working with geriatric patients
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

• Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and may not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the same health system
• Prescreen interview followed by auto offer process
• Return to office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals after submission
