Respiratory Therapist

Role

Travel assignment for an experienced Respiratory Therapist.

Location

Redding, California

Contract Length

13 weeks

Unit / Department

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience
Travel experience
2-5 years of experience in critical care
Active BLS
ACLS
NRP
PALS
RRT
State of California requires RRT; CRT is not accepted

Preferred Qualifications

NPS if working in NICU

Schedule

12-hour day shifts
Every other weekend
Expect to work most holidays
Schedules are made about 3-4 weeks in advance
Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

Float Scope

Floats to all areas except NICU

Facility Details

267 beds
Covers ICU and all other medsurg/tele areas
Charge RT on 24/7
RT 24/7
Pharmacy 24/7
No IV team
Floor-specific orientation: 2 days

Clinical Notes

Common patient types: COPD, Asthma, PNA, CHF
Common duties include breathing treatments, ABGs, EKGs, NIV, HFNC therapy, IPV, and PEP/PAP therapy
Facility is strictly protocol driven
Experience with Respiratory Therapy Driven Protocols is required

Great hospital. Kind and friendly staff.

Cons

The cafeteria is a hit and miss. Some days they have great sea food with saffron rice! Some days microwaved food :D. But there is alwaaaaays, pizza available ;)
