11-bed unit with telemetry on unit

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• Nights
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend for travelers
• Holidays required
• On-call every 6th week
• Block scheduling may be flexible

Required Qualifications

• 2 years minimum experience
• Previous Med Surg experience
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)

Clinical Expectations

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 or 1:5
• Expected to titrate drips
• Common drips include heparin and amiodarone
• Must read and interpret telemetry strips
• Not expected to manage respiratory equipment or administer respiratory treatments

Float Scope

May float to:

• ER
• ICU
• OB for med surg overflow

Travelers floating are expected to take full loads but not critical patients.

Unit Support

• PCTs on unit
• Charge nurse / house supervisor available 24/7
• RT available
• ICU has monitor tech

2 shifts

Candidates who worked in a permanent capacity at Hancock Health within the last 6 months will not be considered.
