Registered Polysomnographic Technologist
Location: Neillsville, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (18:30 - 07:00)
Hours per Week: 36 (12 hours per day, 3 days per week, typically Tuesday to Thursday with some flexibility)
Job Details
- Work setting: Outpatient sleep tech department
- Patient population: Adults only, including those with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and Central Sleep Apnea (CSA)
- Equipment used: Polysmith, ResMed, Radiometer America
- Staffing: Only tech on site at night covering 12 rooms; backup support available nearby or by phone
- Patient mobility: Patients must be mobile and able to perform activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Scheduling: No self-scheduling; manager assigns shifts and fills gaps
- Weekend requirement: Sunday nights required; Fridays and Saturdays only if requested
- Holiday requirement: Generally closed on holidays unless staff volunteer to work
- Dress code: Any solid color scrubs, clean and professional
- Orientation: 1-2 days daytime training and CBTs at main facility, first night shadowing; minimum 2 weeks training at main facility before transferring to Neillsville site
- Timekeeping: Must clock in and out at the facility
Required Qualifications
- Certification: BLS (AHA) and Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) via BRPT
- Experience: Prefer 2+ years in sleep technology; first-time travelers are acceptable
- Prior travel experience: Not required
- Previous employment: Must disclose if previously worked for this employer; if yes, last end date must be at least 6 months prior to application
Additional Information
- Patient ratio: 2 patients to 1 tech
- Adaptive Servo Ventilation (ASV) experience relevant
- Training and support provided during initial period
- Work primarily alone at Neillsville site with remote support available
