Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery RN (LDRP)

Location: Garden City, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours Guarantee: 36 hours per week
• Unit: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Mother-Baby (L&D/PP/MB)
• Beds:

  • 12 LDRP rooms
  • 1 OR suite for C-sections
  • 1 triage bed
  • 12 postpartum beds
• Birth Volume: Approximately 1.5 births per day (50-60 per month)
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Follows AWHONN guidelines
• Call/Standby: Yes, per policy
• Floating: Yes, per policy (float between L&D, PP, MB/Baby)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: None
• Orientation: 1-2 shifts, unit/department specific; must be in-state for orientation week (modules may be remote)
• Scheduling: Fill current holes first, then flexible grouping or separating shifts based on preference
• Dress Code: Any professional colors

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery (LDRP) experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience with Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) care
• Experience circulating in the OR
• Certifications:

  • ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by the American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring

Additional Information

• Charge nurse typically takes an assignment
• One surgical tech available on the unit
• No in-house OB/Neonatologist or anesthesia 24/7
• No adult telemetry; RNs read their own fetal monitoring strips
• Radius requirement: 60 miles (driver’s license must be submitted)
