Job Opportunity: Surgical Tech

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

A main medical center in Eastern Nebraska is seeking multiple Day Surgical Techs for the Operating Room (OR). Flexibility and availability for call are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support surgical procedures across multiple specialties including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Gynecology, Eyes, ENT, Robotics, and more.
• Assist in general surgeries such as bowel, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repairs, laparoscopic surgeries, organ procurements, and others.
• Participate in specialty cases including:

  • Orthopedics: scopes, external fixation, ORIFs, total knees/hips, and fracture repairs
  • Neurosurgery: ACDF, burr holes, craniotomies, tumor resections, shunts, EVD
  • Gynecology: C-sections, hysterectomies, laser procedures, salpingo-oophorectomy
  • Eye, ENT, Thoracic, Plastics, Endoscopy, and Pediatric emergency cases
• Utilize advanced technology such as Da Vinci Robot, Stealth, O-arm, and holmium lasers.

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Shifts: 8-hour or 12-hour shifts (06:30–15:00 or 06:30–19:00)
• Call: Weekly 1-call shift (4 hours) after a shift; weekend call approximately every 5 weeks (Fri evening to Sun evening) with alternating call teams every 12 hours.
• No floating outside of the OR.

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technician with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Surgical Technician experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Information

• Scrubs: Green scrubs provided by the hospital.
• Rapid turnaround time required: availability to start within 7 days or less from contract acceptance.
• Must have strong skills in multiple surgical areas including ortho ORIFs, neuro procedures, robotics, and others as listed.
• Candidates must have a minimum rating of 3 in all key surgical areas to be considered.

Experience Requirements

• Must have prior experience in Neurosurgery and Orthopedics surgical tech roles.
• Robotics experience is mandatory.
