Respiratory Therapist - Pediatrics/Neonatal

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Respiratory Therapist with experience in pediatric and neonatal care, primarily working in NICU or PICU settings. The role involves providing comprehensive respiratory care including use of advanced ventilators and airway management, with a focus on neonates and pediatric patients.

Required Qualifications

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) acceptable
Must have current certifications in:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Minimum 2 years of experience working in PICU and/or Level III or higher NICU
Ability to assist with intubation (independent intubation not required)

Job Duties

Perform all aspects of respiratory care for pediatric and neonatal patients
Use of specialized equipment including:
- Hamilton and Servo ventilators
- Aerogen, Volara, Cough Assist, IPV, NAVA
- Respironics & Hamilton BiPAP devices
- Fisher Paykel High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
Airway management and intrahospital transport of patients
Approximately 20-25 treatments per day

Work Schedule & Environment

Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Holiday shifts as scheduled (possible)
Preference scheduling allowed with commitment to weekend shifts
Staffing: Typically 8 RTs per shift; RT will not be the only therapist on duty
No call or standby call required
Dress code: Stone/light gray scrubs

Department-specific orientation provided, length depends on prior experience
Hospitalist or intensivist available in-house
No floating requirements
