Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist

Location: South Charleston, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Department: Radiology - Mammography
Work Setting: Mobile Mammography Unit (travel to multiple sites within 30-100+ miles radius)

Job Description

• Operate a mobile mammography unit ("Bonnie's Bus") providing screening mammograms.
• Travel distances vary: several sites within 30 miles, most within 30-60 miles, about 10 sites within 60-100 miles, and some over 100 miles.
• Overnight stays may be required depending on site location; shift ends when leaving the bus to go to the hotel.
• Home base is at the hospital; a chase car is provided for travel to hotels if needed.
• Average of 20 scans/studies per day.
• Use of EMR/PACS systems including EPIC, FUJI Synapse PACS, and Volpara.
• Equipment used: Hologic Selenia Dimensions mammography system.
• No IV starts required.
• No weekend, holiday, call, or standby requirements.
• Scrubs color: Black (provided).
• Department-specific orientation provided.
• Shift hours generally 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with leaving time around 6:30-7:00 AM depending on location.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
• BLS Certification (AHA).
• ARRT Certified Mammography Technologist (M) and Radiologic Technologist (R).

Additional Information

• No use of Registered Radiology Assistants (RRAs).
• Radiologist available in-house.
• Patients do not self-schedule for the mobile unit.
• Must be comfortable with travel and working in a mobile environment.
