Medical Technologist

Overview

Travel assignment in Salt Lake City, Utah
Unit: ER LAB / Taylorsville (FSED)
Role: Medical Lab Scientist / Med Tech for Point of Care Testing
Schedule: Saturday 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and Sunday 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Hours per week: 24
Contract length: 13 weeks
Start: ASAP

Facility Setting

10 treatment rooms
8 lab technologists on staff
No on-call requirement
Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

Medical Technologist (2 years of experience)
Medical Technologist experience within the last year
ASCP (MLS)
Experience in a Hospital setting

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EPIC
Some experience with the analyzers listed in the source

Key Responsibilities

Perform point of care testing
Perform clerical duties as assigned by Nursing and the Lab Director in support of FSED operations
Daily maintenance, QC, and calibrations on analyzers
Perform patient testing, including waived and nonwaived tests
Process specimens, including ordering tests, centrifuging specimens, preparing send-outs for transport as needed, stocking lab supplies, and routine cleaning of lab surfaces
