Overview

• Travel RN position in Cortez, Colorado
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• ASAP start

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Associate degree required
• Current Colorado Registered Nurse license; compact license accepted, with Colorado license obtained within the first 90 days of hire
• Current BLS certification
• Current PALS certification within 6 months of hire
• Current ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
• Successful completion of EKG course within 4 months of hire
• 1 year of ICU/inpatient experience preferred for the ICU unit
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree
• Additional languages
• Basic fetal monitoring course within 4 months of hire for FBC
• NRP certification within 4 months of hire for FBC

Unit / Clinical Setting

• Intensive Care Unit
• Patient ratio: 2:1 for ICU status patients; 4:1 when Med Surg status patients are in the unit and there are no current ICU status patients
• Common patient populations include DKA, cardiac, sepsis, surgical, and high-risk decline patients

Clinical Responsibilities / Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and basic arrhythmia interpretation
• Advanced cardiac monitoring
• Critical drips
• Ventilator/BiPAP
• CVP and A-line monitoring
• Rapid sequence intubation
• Procedural sedation
• Fetal monitoring
• Trauma alert
• Newborn care from delivery to discharge
• EMTALA
• CCHD screening
• Phototherapy

Work Environment

• Potential exposure to infectious waste, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, foul odors, heat, cold, snow, rain, and wind
• Moderate to occasionally loud noise level
• Possible interaction with belligerent or aggressive patients and significant others
