Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

- Unit: ED Holds (22 beds, 30 staff)
- Shift Coverage:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 PCAs, 1 unit secretary, 0-2 sitters
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 1-2 PCAs, 0-2 sitters
- Patient Ratios: Maximum 6:1
- EMR System: Meditech
- Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1+ years acute med/surg/telemetry experience within the last year
- Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time
- Required certifications: RN license, ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years telemetry experience including PCI, CABG POD 2
Typical Procedures
- Care of med/surg/telemetry patients
- IV insertions
- Urinary catheter insertion and maintenance
- Central line maintenance
- Medication administration
- Communication with care team members
- Documentation in EHR
- Continuous Bladder Irrigation
- NGT insertion and maintenance
- EKG interpretation

Cons
Medsurg floors have 2 med rooms 2 pyxis in each room half your meds are always in either room either machine. The meds aren't alphabetical in the pyxis or anything so u have to check every machine for your meds.
