Travel RN Opportunity – Telemetry

Location: Springfield, Missouri
Facility Type: Medical Unit (32 beds)


Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry
  • Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours (must specify preference)
  • Weekend Hours: As required by facility
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Float: Rotational basis

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
  • BLS (American Heart Association) required
  • NIHSS certification required prior to start (can submit application without initially)

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 1 year inpatient telemetry experience required
  • Competence in drug titration essential
  • Experience with medical telemetry patients, including those with developmental delays
  • Patient ratios vary: Days 1:5-1:6, Nights 1:6-1:7 (not guaranteed)

Unit & Equipment

  • Telemetry monitoring equipment
  • Lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
  • Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
  • Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
  • Adhere to Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
  • Provide care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and with medical comorbidities
  • Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care effectiveness

Physical & Work Environment

  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
  • Ability to push, pull, grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids
  • Flexible scheduling may be required based on patient care needs

  • Black scrubs only

Additional Notes

  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
  • Time off requests (RTO) must be made after the first week; only one holiday RTO allowed per assignment
