Unit Information

• Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Number of ORs: 5 (3 open, 2 hybrid)
• Number of Staff: 15
• Staff Types:

  • Day Shift: RN, CST, Anesthesia Tech (AT), Patient Care Technician (PCT)
  • Night Shift: On-call staff
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:1
• Equipment: Operating Room (OR) equipment
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Required Skills and Certifications

• Must Have:

  • Certified Surgical Technician (CST) for scrub tech role
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license for nurses
• Preferred:

  • CNOR certification for nurses
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Certified Surgical Technician (CST)

• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
• Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
• Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)
• Aortic replacements
• Vascular procedures

• Floating Area: Spine Operating Room
• Dress Code: Scrub color/attire provided for OR staff
• Unit Policies:

  • On-call response time: 45 minutes from phone call to clocking into the unit
