Travel RN Opportunity – Heart Telemetry Unit

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas

Unit Information

Unit: Heart Telemetry
Number of Beds: 25
Staffing: 40+ staff members
Shift Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 free charge nurse, 1 unit coordinator, 2 patient care technicians (PCTs), 5 RNs
- Night Shift: 5 RNs, 1 PCT
Patient Ratios: Typically 6:1, sometimes 5:1
Equipment Used: Baxter IV Pumps, KCI wound vacs, SCD pumps
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Required Certifications and Licenses

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NIH Certification
Registered Nurse License

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience with Meditech EMR
Telemetry experience
Ability to manage:
- Chest tubes
- Non-titrated Cardizem and Amiodarone drips
- Weight-based heparin drips

Typical Procedures

General medical/surgical nursing competencies
Cardiac telemetry monitoring and management
Medication drip management as noted above

Dress Code

Scrub color: Royal blue

13 weeks
