Travel RN Opportunity – Heart Telemetry Unit
Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Unit Information
- Unit: Heart Telemetry
- Number of Beds: 25
- Staffing: 40+ staff members
- Shift Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 free charge nurse, 1 unit coordinator, 2 patient care technicians (PCTs), 5 RNs
- Night Shift: 5 RNs, 1 PCT
- Patient Ratios: Typically 6:1, sometimes 5:1
- Equipment Used: Baxter IV Pumps, KCI wound vacs, SCD pumps
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Certification
- Registered Nurse License
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with Meditech EMR
- Telemetry experience
- Ability to manage:
- Chest tubes
- Non-titrated Cardizem and Amiodarone drips
- Weight-based heparin drips
Typical Procedures
- General medical/surgical nursing competencies
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring and management
- Medication drip management as noted above
Dress Code
- Scrub color: Royal blue
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
