Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical; Neuro Acute Care
- Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed (can be cancelled up to 3 times per contract)
- Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: May float to other units in the acute care division, including facilities within a 25-mile radius
- Unit Beds: 24
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- EMR System: Cerner
- Equipment: General hospital equipment for an acute care unit
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Certifications: BLS, NIHSS
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Medical/Surgical and Neuro Acute Care)
- Skills/Experience:
- Neuro/post-stroke acute care
- Dysphagia screenings
- Stroke assessments
- BCMA (Bar Code Medication Administration)
- Time management
- Interdisciplinary communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with TR band management
Patient Population
- General Medicine patients, including stroke and neuro acute care cases
Work Environment & Culture
- Professional, adaptable, hardworking, and patient-centered team
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs; fingernails must comply with TJC and CMS guidelines; shoes must be closed-toed with backs
