Job Description

• Work primarily in the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) and Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU).
• CSICU is a 4-bed unit focused on adult and geriatric patients requiring critical care post cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical procedures.
• CSU is an 8-bed stepdown unit caring for patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery.
• Nurses must provide complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring and exhibit high professional competency.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
• Work schedule options: 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Holiday shifts required, with every other weekend coverage.

Requirements

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Experience in Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).

Additional Information

• This is a patient-facing, clinical role.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used: Meditech.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week.
• Parking is available.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks (approximately 3 months).
