Job Opportunity: Medical Technologist (Medical Lab Technician / Medical Technologist)

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position primarily as Lab Assistant with Phlebotomy responsibilities.
• Duties include phlebotomy, processing urinalysis, chemistry, and kit test processing.
• Flexibility required to toggle between lab assistant and Medical Technologist responsibilities.
• Shift options: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts covering days, evenings, and nights with flexible scheduling.
• May float to nearby locations (Tomahawk, Eagle River, Howard Young) with prescheduled floats.
• On-call/call-back duties with a minimum 2-hour callback.
• Weekend and holiday rotation every other weekend.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of core lab experience.
• Prior Travel Experience: 1 prior travel contract required.
• Certifications:

  • MLT or MT or CLS required.
  • ASCP preferred but not required.
  • AHA or ARC BLS certification required.
• Technical Skills: Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
• Ability to manage change well, be resilient, and work hard.
• Must be social and adaptable.

Additional Information

• Guaranteed 80 hours biweekly; overtime after 80 hours in the second week.
• Low census may result in on-call status; 36 hours of low census unbillable hours allowed during contract.
• Flu and COVID vaccination policy: Travelers declining vaccination must wear a mask at all times during flu season per facility policy. Non-compliance may lead to corrective action.
• Scrub color is flexible (any color allowed).
