Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting. Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in ongoing education to meet learning needs and use patient education materials appropriately.
• Assess patient/family readiness and developmental level for learning.
• Identify expected patient outcomes and participate in care plan evaluation and revision.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote continuity of care.
• Deliver care to patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
• Organize and prioritize care based on patient and family needs.
• Consult resources timely for complex care issues or discharge planning.
• Support professional growth goals and participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities.
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
• Recognize and synthesize complex assessment data to determine care priorities.
• Collaborate with patients and families in care planning, addressing cultural and ethnic considerations.
• Stay informed on relevant research and contribute ideas for practice improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience.
• Valid nursing license appropriate for Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of North Carolina.
