Registered Nurse – Surgical Unit Nights

Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract

Shift: Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Summary

Provide nursing care primarily on an Adult Surgical Unit with some pediatric patients. May be required to float to other units as a travel nurse.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, standards of care, and state laws.
• Document care according to standards.
• Develop and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family education.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support patient care continuity.
• Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating issues appropriately.
• Work every other weekend and holidays.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Additional Information

• 12-hour night shifts.
• Primarily adult surgical patients with some pediatric beds.
• Travel nurses may be required to float to other units.
