Job Overview
- Specialty: Cath Lab Tech
- Location: Phoenix, AZ
- Facility: Large teaching hospital with 607 beds, nationally recognized for tertiary care, medical education, and research
- Unit: Cath Lab (3 main rooms: 1 EP, 1 Hybrid for vascular & cardiac cases)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks minimum (no contracts shorter than 13 weeks accepted)
- Shift: 12-hour days, weekends and holidays as needed
- Call Requirement: 8-12 days per month
- Orientation: 2 days on the job, plus weekly orientations on Mondays (except holidays)
- Trauma Level: Level I Trauma experience required
- EMR: Cerner and Xper required
- Certifications:
- ARRT certification required (must be able to scrub)
- Arizona MRTBE CRT license required
- BLS required
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years core Cath Lab experience
- Previous travel experience required for ED, Neuro ICU
- Level I Trauma and teaching hospital experience required
- Additional Requirements:
- Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance (max 2 attempts)
- No facial piercings and only natural hair colors allowed
- Must not hold concurrent contracts with other employers
- Must have own vehicle for travel teams
- Must be off CommonSpirit permanent staff for 12 months to qualify for travel assignment
- Patient Types: Interventional cardiology, EP lab, peripherals, mitral clip, TAVR, IABP, Emtala placement
- Cases per Day: 10-25
- Team:
- Charge nurse present
- Rad techs as circulating and scrub techs (BLS, certified)
- No travel teams with Cath Lab RNs accepted
- Equipment: Phillips telemetry, Siemens and Phillips equipment used
- Parking: Assigned parking with shuttle to facility; night shift parking in garage
- Additional Notes:
- 30-minute response time required
- Teaching hospital with nursing students present
- No IV team; Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with strong trauma and teaching hospital backgrounds, who meet certification and licensing requirements, and are comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced tertiary care environment.
