ICU Registered Nurse

Location

  • Pendleton, Oregon

Assignment Length

  • 13 weeks

Shift

  • Nights, 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Active Oregon RN license, or eligibility to apply for the 90-day Oregon Emergency License if not already licensed
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS

Unit Details

  • ICU with 5 beds
  • Typical ratio: 1:2-3
  • Unstable ventilated patients: 1:1
  • Must be comfortable caring for all age populations, including occasional stable pediatric patients

Clinical Experience / Skills

  • Ventilator management
  • Drip titration
  • Titrating drips is required
  • Common titratable drips include heparin, vasopressors, Bumex, insulin, and sedation/analgesia

Schedule Expectations

  • Every other weekend
  • If placed on low census, expected to report within 30 minutes of call

Support on Unit

  • Supervisor available 24/7
  • Charge RN takes a patient assignment
  • Hospitalist in house
  • Respiratory therapy in house 24/7

Floating

  • May be asked to assist in other departments as helping hands if not fully cross-trained
  • Optional full cross-training to other departments may be available

Orientation

  • 3-6 shifts, longer if needed

Dress Code

  • Navy blue scrubs
