Location

Omaha, Nebraska

Contract

13 weeks
36 hours per week
12-hour night shifts
Every other weekend
Self-scheduling, balanced to unit needs

Required Qualifications

Active RN license
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Minimum 1 year of experience
First-time travelers accepted
Driver’s license required at submittal
Must pass an open-book orientation exam with a score of 90% or higher

Preferred Qualifications

Oncology experience preferred
ONS/ONCC preferred
Chemotherapy certification preferred

Unit Details

Adult oncology and trauma PCU patients
18-bed unit
Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 to 1:5
Travelers float to other Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care
Two days of unit orientation

Clinical Skills and Work Environment

May titrate insulin and Cardizem drips
Common medications/drips include chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix
High-flow respiratory equipment may be encountered
Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
