Registered Nurse (RN) - OB

Location: Soldotna, Alaska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week

Job Summary

• Manage individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and primary nursing principles.
• Follow departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and nursing practice standards.
• Utilize equipment including Meditech, OBIX, Pyxis Supply Stations, and bedside fetal monitors.
• Provide care in a unit with 4 LDRP rooms and 5 Nursery/Postpartum rooms.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio follows national standards based on labor type and patient needs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) experience.
• Active Alaska RN license.
• Certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE, and HS AED.
• COVID-19 vaccination required.

Additional Information

• 3-day training on Meditech and OBIX systems plus unit-specific orientation.
• Medication competency testing required within first two weeks on site.
• On-call 12-hour shifts as needed, following unit procedures.
• Dress code: Scrubs provided.
• Client may call off up to 24 hours during the 13-week assignment without penalty.
• Overtime paid after 8 hours per day and after 40 hours per week.
• Local placements accepted at the same pay rate.
