Occupational Therapist (OT) - Inpatient/LTC Float

Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Float position covering both inpatient acute care and long-term care (LTC)/skilled nursing facilities (SNF)
  • Approximately 90% LTC/SNF and 10% inpatient acute care
  • Typical caseload: 30-40 patients in hospital; SNF facilities with 30-60 beds
  • Day shift, Monday through Friday; no call or weekends
  • Occasionally may be the only Occupational Therapist at an LTC location with phone support available

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation and treatment of adult patients with a variety of diagnoses including:
    • General deconditioning
    • Total joint replacement/post-op ortho
    • Some neurological diagnoses
    • General medical-surgical conditions
  • Provide coverage support for SNF residents requiring skilled therapy services
  • Float to multiple units and departments as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minnesota Occupational Therapy Licensure (or willingness to obtain)
  • Active BLS certification (AHA)
  • Experience with inpatient and SNF settings required
  • Experience in acute care setting preferred; 1 year of acute care experience in the past 3 years preferred but not required
  • Ability and willingness to float to all locations as requested
  • EPIC electronic medical record experience highly preferred

Work Environment & Orientation

  • Hospital licensed for 118 beds; SNF facilities with 30-60 beds
  • Computer-based orientation plus 1:1 training for documentation systems and department orientation
  • Clinicians must badge in/out at facility
  • Dress code: Polo shirts (ceil blue, khaki, gray, chocolate brown) or business casual

Additional Notes

  • Prior employment with this health system requires a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
  • Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility may have adjusted pay rates (not included here)
  • Interview scheduling coordinated directly by hiring manager after submission
