Central Processing Department Educator

Job Overview

• Temp position
• 40 hours per week
• Day shift, Monday–Friday
• No weekends or holidays
• Provides educational support to employees on all shifts, including mid and second shifts

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• HSPA or CBSPD
• Manager (1 year of experience)
• Manager experience within the last year
• Experience in Supervisor roles
• Educator experience
• OR - Operating Room experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Multilingual skills beyond English appropriate to the employee populations served

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, coordinate, and evaluate orientation, continuing education, and in-service programs for staff
• Implement training and orientation programs, including job shadowing, formal classes, and support for new employees and affiliating students
• Follow up with trainees and orientees to ensure competency and integration into their technical roles
• Prepare and train new CPD staff to follow department practices and policies
• Evaluate and interview job candidates and make recommendations on fit
• Coordinate clinical rotations to the Operating Rooms
• Evaluate department training needs and develop training programs
• Track, analyze, and report on enrollment, completion patterns, and related training activities
• Educate staff on new CPD technologies and policy/procedure changes
• Coordinate CPD programs such as competency, orientation, in-service, and employee records
• Monitor progress of staff preparing for certification exams and maintaining certification
• Assist with quality improvement, research, and incident reporting follow-up
• Maintain current knowledge of CPD technology, sterilization-related standards and practices, and adult education methods
