Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• OR - Operating Room (1 year of experience)
• OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred

• Meditech experience

Unit Details

• 4 operating rooms
• 5–6 nurses per shift
• Day shift staffing includes 1 CNC and 5–6 RNs
• Night shift is call coverage only
• Shifts are 5 eight-hour shifts, Monday through Friday; 4 ten-hour shifts may be considered if staffing allows
• Patient ratio is 1:1

Common Procedures

• Orthopedic surgery, including total joints, revisions, and fractures
• General surgery, including robotic, laparoscopic, and open cases
• Colorectal surgery, robotic
• Urological surgery
• Gynecological surgery, robotic and laparoscopic

Work Expectations

• Pull case carts
• Provide family updates by phone or Surgical Symphony text
• Assist with lunch and break relief
• Serve as second nurse/support for after-hours recovery nurse
• Call coverage is shared with full-time staff, including about 1 weekend and evening weekday coverage
