Location: Portland, Maine
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description

  • Provide surgical nursing care specializing in Gynecology and Genitourinary procedures at a Level One Trauma Center.
  • Must demonstrate expertise in surgical nursing and exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Competency required in Robotics (Davinci Xi), PCNLs, Nephrectomies, Ureteral Reimplants, Hysterectomies, Cystectomies, Colpocleisis, Hysteroscopies, and Ureteroscopies.
  • Comfortable caring for a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Work Details

  • Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (day shift)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
  • Weekend Hours: 1:4 weekend rotation, 12-hour shifts
  • Call Requirements: One overnight call (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) for Trauma call; specialty team call schedules apply if assigned to specialty teams (Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho)

This position is ideal for experienced OR nurses with strong trauma and surgical skills seeking a travel assignment in a Level One Trauma Center environment.


Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Maine
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
  • Competency in Robotics (Davinci Xi)
  • Competency in PCNLs
  • Competency in Nephrectomies
  • Competency in Ureteral Reimplants
  • Competency in Hysterectomies
  • Competency in Cystectomies
  • Competency in Colpocleisis
  • Competency in Hysteroscopies
